September 18, 2024: 4 p.m.
Club Meet & Greet: Community Center
Gather with other club members and guests to learn about planned activities for the coming year. Get updates from Committee Chairs on various projects and ways you can be involved. Meet our newest members. Give us your ideas for ways in which the Club can further its mission to create and stimulate a greater interest in gardening, horticulture, floral design, conservation of natural resources and civic beautification. Hors d’oeuvres, sweets, wine and other beverages will be served.

October 16, 2024: 6 p.m.
Harvest Dinner: Tiffany Room
Bring a dish to share with fellow members as we gather to celebrate autumn. After dinner a member will discuss creating floral decorations using backyard foliage and cut flowers. She will create 3 fall centerpieces.

November 24 & 25, 2025: 2:30 p.m.
Holiday Floral Workshops: Knights of Columbus
Prepare and create holiday florals which you can purchase yourself or make for the Holiday Fair. Boxwood and other greens will be conditioned on Monday. Boxwood trees, table arrangements, holiday planters, and swags will be made on Tuesday. Please bring your own clippers. Donations of greens are appreciated!

November 29, 2025: 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Annual Holiday Fair: Town Hall
Members will sell the items made at the Knights of Columbus.

December 6, 2025: 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Holiday House Tour: Town-wide
NGC elves have been busy decorating 8 homes/buildings for the holiday season. This is your chance to see the amazing creativity of our members and neighbors. Tickets are $25 and may be purchased from the NGC or at the Village Church beginning at 9:00 on the day of the fair. Complementary coffee and donuts will also be available at the Church at 9:00 am. Home tours begin at 10:00 a.m.

December 11, 2025: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Holiday Party: Tiffany Room
A chance to mingle with members of the Garden Club and Woman’s Club before the holiday rush. Enjoy catering by Brett Henry, wine, and sparkling water.

January 15, 2026: 1:00 p.m.
Attracting Birds: Nahant Library
The owner of Wild Birds Unlimited in Danvers will talk about attracting birds to your backyard and answer all your questions.

February 19, 2026: 2:00 p.m.
Happy House Plants: Tiffany Room
Dr. Peter Barker is a retired Family Physician who has had a lifelong fascination with plants. After reading “Light Eaters: How the Unseen World of Plant Intelligence Offers a New Understanding of Life on Earth”, Dr. Barker realized the unique capability of plants to communicate and adapt. He has given several gardening presentations on the North Shore with tremendous feedback For this presentation, he welcomes your specific questions in advance. (Submit to info@nahantgardenclub.org.)

Tides Fundraiser

March 19, 2026: 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Field Trip to Isabella Stuart Gardner Museum
This visit, on the last day of winter, will envelop you in the tropical beauty of Southeast Asia and Africa. The orchids on display in the Courtyard will surely invigorate your senses with their vibrant beauty and perfumed air. The museum houses a collection of 18,000+ objects spanning thousands of years and five continents and includes paintings, sculptures, furniture, archives, books, textiles, and more. Cost: $20. Free Bus transportation will be provided. Meet at Kelley Greens (time tbd).

April 16, 2026: 1:00 p.m.
Arbor Day: Tiffany Room
A member of Nahant’s Open Space Committee will discuss their efforts to protect natural resources, conserve open space, and provide a variety of well-maintained recreational opportunities. Recent work at Bailey’s Hill has included removing invasive plants, opening up views, and planting 200 native perennials and 50 native trees. In addition to this presentation, the 2026 Arbor Day Honoree will be announced and celebrated.

May 21, 2025: 6 p.m.
Nahant Stories: Tiffany Room
Dr. Terrence Murphy, former Nahanter and retired Infectious Disease Specialist, is a story teller at heart and will delight members with tales of our favorite island. As the author of Forty Steps and Other Stories, he will entertain with his knowledge of local legends, people, and historical events.

June 18, 2026: 12:00 p.m.
Annual Meeting: Cary Club
The Annual Meeting features reports from committees on past activities and future plans, followed by a luncheon. Susan Fitzgerald, a horticulture specialist at Marblehead Garden Center, will be our speaker. She will talk about plants and trees that are native to this area and others,non-native, that also thrive in Nahant.
